We invite you to an unparalleled High Mountain adventure in the heart of the Cajón del Maipo. Cerro Marmolejo (6,108 m) is not only the southernmost volcano in the Andes mountain range but also holds the title of the southernmost 6,000m peak on the planet. This expedition is a serious challenge that will reward you with unique views of its large glacier and caldera.
I am Joaquín Cisternas, a leader with 10 years of experience in Chile, accredited by UIMLA and ACGM (Chilean Association of Mountain Guides).
This expedition is designed for mountaineers with good physical condition and prior High Mountain experience , ready to face a 6,000m peak known for being very icy.
The summit day is technical and begins around 3:00 AM, aiming to reach the summit with the first rays of light (approx. 8:00 AM). The ascent requires us to rope up and use technical equipment due to the presence of crevasses during our traverse over the glacier.
So you can focus solely on the climb, we handle the operational complexity and safety:
Due to the extreme conditions of the Marmolejo, it is mandatory that every participant brings their own specific High Mountain gear.
(If you require gear, contact us for rental options.)
